Soprano Maureen Smith has been praised for her “distinctive voice (that rings) out bright and clear” (Third Coast Daily). Smith is also an accomplished instrumental musician; she plays guitar, mandolin and ukulele. Maureen can be heard as soprano section leader and soloist at St. John Brebeuf Catholic Church and the Niles Metropolitan Chorus in Niles, IL.
Maureen will be performing the soprano solos in both Bach and Pergolesi’s “Magnificat” with the Niles Metropolitan Chorus on Sunday, October 25th at 3:00. In November, she will be filming an excerpt from composer Ross Crean’s new opera “The Great God Pan,” as well as recording his women’s trio, “The Last Hymns of Anna Ophelia.” On December 1st, Maureen will be singing the soprano solos in Handel’s “Messiah” with the Niles Metropolitan Chorus.
